Tragedy strikes Coughlan

Sheffield Wednesday'S Graham Coughlan has been given compassionate leave.

Sheffield Wednesday captain Graham Coughlan has been given compassionate leave after his brother was found drowned in a canal in Dublin.

The 32-year-old Irishman is believed to have returned home to Ireland after being informed his brother's body had been found in the Grand Canal at Clondalkin.

Coughlan's brother Shane went missing along with his friend David White in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Owls manager Brian Laws told the Sheffield Star: "Owing to a bereavement in his immediate family in Ireland, Graham Coughlan is on compassionate leave until further notice.

"All our thoughts are with him. He will not be involved in our match at Leeds on Saturday."
