Foxes capture Newton

Leicester have signed West Ham winger Shaun Newton on loan.

The 31-year-old has linked up with the Foxes until the end of the season.

Newton is well down the pecking order at West Ham and Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is happy to loan him out.

Leicester chief Rob Kelly believes Newton will be a valuable addition to his squad for the remainder of the season.

"We are really pleased to have got him," Kelly told the club's official website. "There were a number of other Championship sides who were in the chase for Shaun, but I think he has seen that we are a club moving forward.

"He's played in the Premiership this season and brings a lot of experience to the club.

"I am sure that he will prove to be a good acquisition."
