Barca baulk at Alves price
Barcelona say Sevilla are being 'outrageous' in their demands for Daniel Alves.
Barcelona have accused Sevilla of being 'outrageous' in their demands for Daniel Alves.
The Brazilian is a transfer target for the Spanish champions, who have not settled on a regular right-back this season.
Juliano Belletti, Oleguer and Gianluca Zambrotta have all taken turns in the position, but Barca want to add to their options with the summer acquisition of Alves.
However, Sevilla's value of the defender appears to contrast wildly with Barca's, who feel their title rivals have been spoilt by recent transfers.
Barca sporting director Txiki Beguiristain confirmed the club's interest in Alves, but outlined his unhappiness with the figures being quoted.
"It's outrageous what they are asking for," Beguiristain told radio station RAC 1.
"They have become accustomed to such figures because of the fees they got for Reyes, Baptista and Ramos."
Meanwhile, Beguiristain also reiterated that the club will not be bidding for Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou, but Barca will only make a bid if they lose one of their own star players.
Beguiristain added: "He's a good player, but we haven't made any move to try and sign him.
"If none of our big players move then Cristiano Ronaldo won't be coming here."
