L'OM produced an impressive display at Stade Velodrome and two goals apiece from Mamadou Niang and Renato Civelli proved the undoing of Lille.

Niang set the ball rolling when netting a penalty on nine minutes, but the lead proved short lived as Lille responded with a penalty of their own from Michel Bastos.

Renato Civelli fired Marseille ahead shortly before the interval and added a third just past the hour mark.

Niang saved the best for last, as he smashed home a fourth in injury-time to cap a fine evening for Marseille.

Toulouse climbed up to third in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win at struggling Sedan.

Sedan are mired in troubled towards the foot of the table and they were undone by two late goals.

Toulouse were frustrated for long periods, but Paulo Cesar fired them ahead on 78 minutes with a powerful drive which wrong-footed Stephane Trevisan.

Sedan went in search of a leveller and were caught with a sucker punch late on as Albin Ebondo cut inside from the wing and rifled a shot into the far corner.
