Fyssas set for Hearts exit

Takis Fyssas is set to leave Hearts, but is not keen on a move to Southampton.

Takis Fyssas is set to leave Hearts in the summer, although the defender is unlikely to be reunited with George Burley at Southampton.

The Greece international's contract at Tynecastle expires at the end of the season and he has not been offered an extension.

Fyssas is attracting interest from across the continent, but his agent Paul Koutsoliakis admits a move to Southampton is not currently an option.

"It looks like Takis will leave Tynecastle," Koutsoliakis told The Scotsman. "I have had no contact from them.

"If a club wants to keep a player, they get in touch with him.

"My job is to look after my client and I'm now looking at other possibilities for him. I have had contact from clubs in Spain, Germany and Holland.

"I know George likes him a lot, but Southampton are only playing in the Championship.

"I don't think it would be best for Takis to go to the English Championship because he wants to keep his place in the Greek national team for Euro 2008."

Meanwhile, Craig Levein fears Dundee United will be priced out of any move for Hearts midfielder Julien Brellier.

The Frenchman is another player out of contract with The Jambos and Levein would be keen on a deal, if the price is right.

Levein said: "He's definitely a player I like, but he'd be way out of our price league."
