Ziegler completes Samp move

Tottenham winger Reto Ziegler has signed for Sampdoria on a permanent basis.

Tottenham winger Reto Ziegler has signed for Sampdoria on a permanent basis.

The Switzerland international joined Samp on loan in the January transfer window and the two clubs have now agreed for him to stay in Italy.

Ziegler failed to make a real impact during his three years at White Hart Lane and was sent out for loan spells at Hamburg and Wigan before he joined Sampdoria.

He had more success in Serie A, making 15 appearances, and is happy to have completed a move to Sampdoria.

"I feel good at Sampdoria," said the 21-year-old.

"This is the right club for me to improve as a player."

Sampdoria have also signed Antonio Mirante and Daniele Gasteldello from Juventus.

Goalkeeper Mirante, who played seven times for Juve in Serie B last season, has put pen-to-paper on a one-year loan deal.

Defender Gasteldello never broke into the Juve first-team but has plenty of experience after two years on loan at Siena.
