In-form attacker Alex Newby bagged a brace to take his season’s tally to six as York thumped 10-man Swindon 4-0 at the LNER Community Stadium.
Ollie Banks and Ollie Pearce were also on target as the Minstermen racked up a 12th consecutive home league win.
The visitors' misery, meanwhile, was compounded by a senseless red card for Mitch Clark.

Newby opened the scoring in the 11th minute, firing a stunning first-time, 25-yard strike inside Connor Ripley's right-hand post after Stephan Negru's headed clearance from a Alex Hunt corner.
Banks doubled the advantage by finding the same part of the goal from a similar position, but this time a deflection helped direct his effort beyond Ripley's outstretched arm.
After the break, Banks clipped the crossbar before he was involved in the flashpoint which saw Clark receive his marching orders in the 67th minute.
The York midfielder was floored by an Anthony Munda challenge and, after getting up to remonstrate, was shoved forcibly back to the deck by Clark.
Newby then added the third, exchanging passes with Hunt before finding the bottom left corner from 15 yards, before Pearce completed the rout when tapping in Joe Felix's low right-wing cross.
