Fleetwood forward Chris Long serves the second of a three-match ban and misses the visit of Chesterfield.

Midfielder Jimmy Ryan remains a doubt after hobbling off with a foot injury at the weekend and missing the midweek FA Cup replay win over Southport.

Defender Conor McLaughlin returns from Northern Ireland duty.

Goalkeeper Alex Cairns played in midweek but Chris Neal is set to be recalled.

Striker Ched Evans faces a late fitness test for Chesterfield.

Evans limped off with an ankle injury in their 4-1 home defeat against Sheffield United last Sunday.

Meanwhile both Jon Nolan (hamstring) and Liam Graham (knee) have been ruled out of Saturday's fixture through injury.
