Joey Barton has been banned from driving for six months after pleading guilty to two speeding offences.

His case was heard at Warrington Magistrates' Court at the end of April.

The Fleetwood Town manager was fined a total of £999 and was told to cover £200 worth of court costs.

He pleaded guilty to speeding on the M26 on October 20 last year and again in Widnes at the beginning of December.

The driving ban comes at the end of a month in which Barnsley lodged a complaint with the EFL and FA following "an alleged incident at the conclusion of the match on Saturday 13th April between Joey Barton and Daniel Stendel (Barnsley boss)".

Barton "emphatically" denied all of the allegations made against him.
