Walsall goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has joined neighbours Hednesford Town on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old has joined the UniBond Premier Division club for the forthcoming season in order to gain experience of first team football.
Saddlers boss Richard Money says he will keep a close eye on Gilmartin during his time at Hednesford and says he has high hopes for the player.
"Rene is a talented young goalkeeper and he will benefit from getting regular, competitive first-team football at a decent level.
"The fact that he has moved to a local club means we will be able to monitor his progress closely and we have insisted on a 24-hour recall clause."
