Levante land Leon

Levante have held off competition from Real Madrid to sign Murcia's Pedro Leon.

Levante have held off competition from Real Madrid to secure the services of Real Murcia midfielder Pedro Leon.

The 20-year-old is an Under 21 international and regarded amongst the crop of Spain's most-gifted youngsters.

He opted to leave newly-promoted Murcia after falling out with coach Lucas Alcaraz last season.

Having fallen out of favour, he was left out of the first team for the majority of the campaign by Alcaraz who was known to be unhappy with his attitude at being dropped.

Despite interest from Real, Leon has now opted for a switch to Abel Resino's (pictured) Levante side, believing the move will help his development as a player.

"I arrive excited at the prospect of undertaking a new chapter in my career and am happy to be at a side like Levante who have shown the confidence in me that was missing before," he stated.

"I hope the Murcia fans understand my decision to move. The club will always be in my heart, but I was not going to have too many opportunities there."

Meanwhile, Levante have also finalised the signing of defender Miquel Robuste with the 22-year-old joining from Espanyol.

However, one man heading out of the club is midfielder Sylvain N'Diaye who has opted to accept a season-long loan deal at Tenerife.
