Neil McCann sacked as Dundee manager

Neil McCann

Neil McCann has been sacked as Dundee manager with the club bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

McCann successfully kept Dundee up after he was named interim boss in April 2017 and, having then been named manager on a permanent basis, he led them to a ninth-place finish last season.

However, Dundee have won just one and lost seven of their eight Premiership games this season so far.

A statement on Tuesday said: "The club can confirm that manager Neil McCann has today left the club.

"We have explored alternative options to support the management staff recently but unfortunately these did not come to fruition.

"Assistant Manager Graham Gartland has been relieved from his role.
