Simao seals Atletico move

Simao Sabrosa has completed his switch from Benfica to Atletico Madrid.

The two clubs agreed a fee of ‚é¼20million (£13.4million) fee on Thursday and the Portuguese winger has now finalised a four-year contract with Atletico.

Atletico finished seventh in la Liga last season but they have spent heavily this summer and Simao is confident of breaking into the top three.

"I chose a move to Atletico because they presented me with a very ambitious project," Simao said as he was presented to the Spanish press.

"My objective is to win things. I will work hard to do this.

"The club are signing good players and we should be in the top three in the league."

Simao becomes Atletico's fifth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Diego Forlan, Raul Garcia, Cleber Santana and Luis Garcia.
