Terms agreed after Hull collapse

Leeds United striker Richard Cresswell is set to join Stoke City after his move to Hull City collapsed. Cresswell had agreed personal terms with Hull, only for the transfer to fall through due to concerns regarding his medical. The Tigers' Championship rivals Stoke have been quick to take advantage of the situation by agreeing a deal for the former Preston forward. Several other clubs were keen on Cresswell and Potters boss Tony Pulis is delighted to be bringing the 29-year-old to The Britannia Stadium.

Top player

"Richard is a fantastic player and we are delighted he will be joining us," Pulis told the club's official website. "I wasn't aware of his availability until I got a call the other day and I must say I am absolutely delighted to be signing him. "There have been a number of clubs after him, including Preston, Hull and Sheffield Wednesday, and I'm very happy he wants to sign for us. "I think he is a top player, a very hard worker and he has great finishing ability to, so he will be a very good signing for this club."
