On-loan stopper Lindegaard was withdrawn at half-time in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham in midweek while Vermijl had been forced off even earlier due to a kick on the top of his foot.

North End manager Simon Grayson will give both players until the last minute to prove their fitness, with 34-year-old Chris Kirkland, who came close to joining the Clarets in the summer, ready to fill in between the sticks.

Calum Woods (calf) should be back to deputise for Vermijl if needed yet Chris Humphrey (shin), Liam Grimshaw and Stevie May (both knee) are still out.
