Chelsea starlet snapped up by Esbjerg

Chelsea's Phil Younghusband has joined Danish club Esbjerg on loan. The attack-minded Philippines international has been sent out by The Blues to gain more first-team experience. He will stay with Esbjerg until the end of 2007 before returning to Stamford Bridge to play for Chelsea's reserves. Younghusband has been at Chelsea since he was 10 and was top scorer for the youth team in 2004/5. The 20-year-old has been a member of the reserve-team squad for the last two seasons and will have aspirations of progressing to the senior setup in time. Younghusband joins a growing list of young players who have been sent out by Chelsea to play more regularly, with the likes of Jimmy Smith, Michael Mancienne and Ben Sahar all currently plying their trades in the Championship.
