Former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater picks his #One2Eleven on The Fantasy Football Club.

Goater scored 103 goals in 189 appearances for Manchester City, finishing as the club's top goalscorer for four consecutive seasons between the 1998/99 and 2001/02 seasons.

The 45-year-old has gone with a traditional 3-5-2 formation, with plenty of stellar names from his time at Manchester City - but not former FIFA World Player of the Year George Weah!

GOALKEEPER: Peter Schmeichel

He played a lot of years with Manchester United but I had a good two years with him. What can you say about Schmeichel that no-one else knows? He was phenomenal. For me he changed the game. He wasn't about just saves for the cameras, he started attacks. In his targets he probably wanted to set up four or five goals a season. He transformed our game as a team.

LEFT WING-BACK: Stuart Pearce

He won't be happy with this but Pearce is left wing-back. Andy [Morrison] will be telling him to get back. He used to knock a ball into me and I'd feel like he was shooting at me. But his leadership and his standards in training were second to none. I had to have him in the team.

CENTRE-BACK: Andy Morrison

Andy was protective. If you see that situation with Roy Keane and Patrick Viera, it wouldn't have happened with Andy. There would have been a fight in the tunnel and it would have been done. He was a player who came at the right time for us. We were languishing as a team and looking for leadership. He had it and lifted us.

CENTRE-BACK: Gerard Wiekens

Gerard was underrated at City. In the big games against the top quality players he did very well. If he played against Ruud van Nistelrooy or any of the top quality players he would mark them out the game. He read the game so well and was a very intelligent defender.

CENTRE-BACK: Sylvain Distin

He had great qualities. He was a Frenchman but we used to say he was like an Englishman because he really involved himself in the team. He had a great work ethic and it doesn't surprise me that he's still playing.

RIGHT WING-BACK: Shaun Wright-Phillips

I played with him when he was a young kid coming through but he had a great work ethic. With his engine, his ability to get around the field and to work hard, he would have no problem getting up and down the right flank and producing quality. It did surprise me when he moved on to Chelsea but he's a great lad.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Eyal Berkovic

He was great at giving confidence to players. He was confident on the ball and brought confidence to the team through that. We are talking about a time when City didn't play like City today so he was the sort of player that would show for the ball and want the ball. He was great for keeping players involved in the game.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Kevin Horlock

He was at the club for many years and went through all the same ups and downs as me. He was a quality left-footed player. He had excellent long-range passing and he would also get stuck in. He would be great for the dressing room because he's one of the funniest lads I know.

ATTACKING MIDFIELD: Ali Benarbia

He was absolute quality. When he had the ball you knew you could just make your run whichever foot he was on. He was a phenomenal player. I wish I'd played with him when he was 21 or 22. He raised our level in terms of quality.

CENTRE FORWARD: Nicolas Anelka

He was always up for the big games. He knew he had the quality. He could choose to be bothered or not be bothered because he had that much ability. He could literally beat two or three players and score whenever he wanted. I just looked at him and wished I had that ability.

CENTRE FORWARD: Darren Huckerby

Darren and I had this great relationship. He would prefer to drift out and play on the left-hand side but he would score goals. He would suck people in with his dribbling ability. That would leave me in the middle in space. He could beat four players and the goalkeeper and leave me with a tap in.
