Former West Ham and Wales midfielder Jack Collison's #One2Eleven

Jack Collison #One2Eleven

Gareth Bale? Aaron Ramsey? Ravel Morrison? Former West Ham and Wales midfielder Jack Collison picks his #One2Eleven.

Collison made more than 100 appearances for the Hammers and won 15 caps for Wales before his career was cut short by injury.

The midfielder has picked the best players he played alongside in a 3-4-3 formation...

Goalkeeper - Rob Green

A very good goalkeeper. Very steady, you know what you are going to get from him. Like all goalkeepers he's a bit of a crazy character but you'll get seven out of 10 every week and he will have the odd worldie too.

Right side of defence - Lucas Neill

What a player. As a youngster coming through at West Ham he took me under his wing, he made sure the young players were OK and looked after me a few times when I was playing on the right side of the diamond.

He is the captain too because he could organise a great Christmas party! Fantastic at bringing the lads together, a really great guy and he has had a fantastic career too.

Centre half - Ashley Williams

He has been incredible over the last three or four seasons and has been a massive part of why Wales have done so well. He's a good defender, can play as well and he's a really inspirational leader. He has been fantastic and I am sure he is going to have a good Euros. I am very surprised he hasn't gone on to one of the bigger clubs.

Left side of defence - James Tomkins

We came up together through the youth teams and reserves with West Ham, made our debuts at similar times and were room-mates on away trips. He has been brilliant this season playing at right-back, which he didn't like a few years ago, but Slaven (Bilic) seems to have transformed him.

He has been getting better and better going forward and has always been a great defender. He's probably my best mate in football, he has been really good this year and has been a big part of why West Ham have been so good.

Right of midfield - Ravel Morrison

When I say he could be whatever he wants to be, he really could. Football is so easy for him, some of the stuff he did in training was breathtaking. He has done a good thing getting away to Italy, I know he hasn't played much but if he can get his head down he can have an incredible future in the game.

He could be a big player at a top club, he is good on both feet and glides past players. He showed it at West Ham in glimpses but never got that run of more than five or 10 games. He scored some great goals, that one at Spurs was wonderful and that's what he could do every day in training.

Centre midfield - Mark Noble

He has been a huge part of West Ham and their success this year. He seems to have more of a license to go forward and he has been repaying Slaven's faith. He has scored some important goals, got some good assists and you know that week in, week out you are going to get good performances.

He has got some great banter too, so along with Lucas Neill he would bring the boys together. I was fortunate enough to train and play with him for around eight years and I am very surprised he hasn't got an England call-up yet.

I was very fortunate to play alongside him in his best years. He won Football Writers' Player of the Year in a team that got relegated as a midfielder who didn't really score goals. For a young player coming through looking at what you wanted to be as a professional footballer, he embodied it all.

He is feisty, trains like an animal, plays every week. He was ill for two or three weeks, could hardly talk or walk, and he went out and played against Wigan and scored an unbelievable goal, that summed him up.

Left midfield - Aaron Ramsey

Slightly out of position but...I got to see him at a very young age with Wales youth teams when I was 18 or 19 and he was 16 or 17. He was a quiet lad, kept himself to himself, but on the training pitch he was a wonderful player. He ran training and you knew what would happen in the games; he was the best player on the pitch by a mile.

It's no surprise to see where his career has gone, he had the bad injury which he seems to have got over and he is getting better and better. He is going to be massive for Wales at the Euros. You saw what a big player he was in qualification and it's important he stays fit and keeps producing the goods.

Right forward - Joe Cole

Not such good hair as the midfield four but a really good player. I was excited when he signed for West Ham and felt fortunate to play with him for the few games I did. He has had a great career, started at West Ham as a youngster, won almost everything with Chelsea and then came back to West Ham probably in his twilight years, but he loves playing football and being out there on the training pitch. That enthusiasm rubbed off on the whole group.

Left forward - Gareth Bale

What can you say about him. He's still like a big kid, always messing about and at the bottom of the jokes, but then in training he's doing stuff with a ball and not even thinking about it and you're thinking "I wish I had 10% of that". He would hit 10 free-kicks and eight would go in the top corner.

It's great to see what a grounded person he is. Thankfully for Wales he loves turning up for every game, not just the big ones, he loves going out and playing with passion. I am sure at Madrid he is going to get better and better.

I remember when he was first signing for Real Madrid he didn't really take notice of what was going on, he had press everywhere and he still thought he could go and grab himself a Nandos in between training; there were about 200 people stood outside waiting to get their photo with him. A fantastic player and fantastic person too.

Forward - Craig Bellamy

I'm a massive Andy Carroll fan but I couldn't leave out Craig Bellamy. What he brings to training, the games, speaking beforehand like he did at the Mark Noble testimonial. It was like it was a cup final for him, he was getting angry, shouting at people, demanding the ball, that intensity you would see every day of the week.

Whether it's five-a-side or head tennis as a cool down, he wanted to win. Being a winner breeds confidence among the rest of the lads and his football ability speaks for itself, he's a good player.
