Mowbray rewarded for unbeaten September

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray has won the Championship Manager of the Month award for September. Mowbray's side managed four wins and one draw in their five league games in September, scoring an impressive 15 goals. Upon receiving the reward, The Baggies chief explained that his men are not getting carried away with their excellent form and are taking things one game at a time.

Fantastic

"We are on a journey. This season we have our targets and aims to try and get out of this division. We are very early on in the season," he told Sky Sports News. He also praised his side's home form, highlighting the balance his men have developed between defence and attack. "We have scored plenty of goals and defensively we are much tighter," he added. "I just want good footballers on the pitch, trying to do their job, believing in how we want to play. This group of players are fantastic to work with." Mowbray fended off competition from Charlton's Alan Pardew, who came in second, and Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd.
