Feyenoord went top of top of the Eredivisie table thanks to a 1-0 win over Vitessse Arnhem. Nicky Hofs fired Feyenoord in front on 55 minutes and Vitesse had no answer. The three points allows Feyenoord to overhaul PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, who were held to a 2-2 away draw against Sparta Rotterdam. Ajax were grateful for a last gasp equaliser from Siem De Jong to save further blushes against Sparta, who have yet to win this season. Coach Henk Ten Cate, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, saw his side come from behind twice against Sparta and the point is enough to move above PSV in second on goal difference. Charles Dissels gave Sparta the lead seven minutes after half-time, but Klass Huntelaar levelled for Ajax on 68 minutes. Sparta, though, looked to have won the encounter with 10 minutes remaining when Sepp De Roover hit home but De Jong came off the bench to disappoint the Sparta Stadion faithful when he equalised on the stroke of full-time. Elsewhere, Dave De Faux handed Roda JC the points when he hit the back of the net on 71 minutes to secure a 1-0 win over Twente Enschede. The result sees Roda move to within one point of Twente, who suffered their first defeat of the season. Heerenveen bounced back in style from their last two losses, with a 9-0 thrashing of Heracles Alemlo. Afonso Alves netted seven of the goals including four in 10 minutes half way through the second half. Their two other goals came from Gerald Sibon on 50 and 81 minutes. Groningen grabbed an injury time equaliser from substitute Ondrej Svejdik after AZ Alkmaar looked likely to take all three points after an 83 minute goal from Demy de Zeeuw. Ari Ferreira opened the scoring for AZ on 17 minutes before Marcus Berg had equalised for the visitors on 71 minutes.AZ Alkmaar 2-2 Groningen
Heerenveen 9-0 Heracles
Sparta Rotterdam 2-2 Ajax
