Germany legend eyes vacant Carrow Road post
Former Germany international and World Cup winner Pierre Littbarski has thrown his hat in the ring for the vacant managerial position at Norwich City.
Peter Grant's departure from the Carrow Road hot-seat has seen Norwich step-up their search for his successor, with several high-calibre candidates including the likes of Joe Royle, Geraint Williams, Glenn Hoddle and Martin Allen linked to the post.
But one of the more intriguing possible appointments is that of Littbarski, who current manages J-League side Avispa Fukuoka, having previously accrued experience as an assistant manager at Bayer Leverkusen and MSV Duisburg.
Littbarski's bid for the top job is given further credence by the fact his assistant in Japan is none other than former Norwich favourite Ian Crook, who is himself one of the favourites to succeed Grant.
Legend
Crook remains a hugely popular figure with the Canaries faithful and his appointment, with Littbarski alongside him, could well prove to be a popular choice.
"That job would interest me," Littbarski told the Sun.
Paul Jewell had been installed as an early favourite but it has now been reported that the former Wigan chief is unlikely to take a position at the Championship strugglers.
