Out-of-favour Hull City striker Michael Bridges has arrived in Australia as he prepares to re-forge his career Down Under.
The 29-year-old striker has signed for Sydney FC on loan until the end of the current Australian season in February.
As soon as his visa application is approved, he will be in contention for a first team spot and could make his debut in the 28th October clash against the Central Coast Mariners.
Coach Bruno Culina told the Sydney Morning Herald: "He's obviously yet to get his visa approved but as soon as he gets that he'll be in contention for a first team spot.
Contention
"Just looking at him on his arrival he seems to be in good nick. He'll certainly be in contention for the game against Central Coast next Sunday week.
"I'm excited about the prospect of him joining our squad and hopefully that will give us a lift we've been looking for since the start of the season."
Bridges was well down the pecking order at Hull and had been considering a return to former club Carlisle on a short-term deal.
His goal-scoring prowess at Carlisle had earned him a £350,000 move to Hull in August 2006.
