Celtic will be hoping to bounce back from their CIS Cup exit in midweek when they travel to Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon, while the Edinburgh derby takes centre stage on Sunday. Rangers play host to Inverness aiming to close the gap on leaders Celtic, while Dundee United are looking to continue their rich vein of form at Aberdeen. Elsewhere there is a basement battle as Falkirk entertain bottom of the table Gretna.
Aberdeen v Dundee United
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has an injury crisis on his hands ahead of the visit of in-form Dundee United. Darren Mackie, Steve Lovell, Derek Soutar and Jamie Smith are all definitely missing for the home side and Zander Diamond and Chris Clark are likely to be absent. Barry Nicholson, Jackie McNamara, Scott Severin, Richard Foster and Richie Byrne all face late ftness tests, but Derek Young has recovered to take his place in the squad. United have no fresh injury worries to contend with as Craig Conway and Keith Watson remain on the sidelines.
Falkirk v Gretna
Gretna are sweating over the fitness of defender Chris Innes ahead of the trip to Falkirk. Innes missed last weekend's defeat to Inverness with a toe injury and is facing a race against time to recover to face Falkirk. Craig Barr is sidelined because of suspension, while Martin Canning is still struggling with a knee problem. Falkirk are boosted by the news that Kenny Milne has recovered from the injury which saw him replaced in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Aberdeen and taken to hospital in a neck brace. Milne has been passed fit to play by club doctors, but the game has come too soon for groin victim Jack Ross.
Kilmarnock v Celtic
Former Celtic forward David Fernandez misses out against his old club at Rugby Park after only recently returning to training following a serious knee injury. Allan Johnston and Grant Murray are also absent for Jim Jefferies' side meaning he is likely to stick with the side that beat Hearts last weekend. Celtic are unlikely to risk Shunsuke Nakamura as they look to have him fit for next week's UEFA Champions League clash with Benfica. Long-term absentees Mark Wilson and Joel-Perrier Doumbe are still sidelined, but Steven Pressley is pushng for a return after featuring for the reserves in midweek.
Motherwell v St Mirren
St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson is likely to name the same side that beat Hibernian last weekend. That means Garry Brady is set to keep his place in midfield after earning a shock start at Easter Road. Craig Dargo, Ian Maxwell and Craig Molloy are all still injured for the Love Street outfit. Motherwell boss Mark McGhee has no fresh injuries to contend with and could stick with the side that narrowly lost to Rangers in midweek.
Rangers v Inverness
Rangers welcome Jean-Claude Darcheville and Brahim Hemdani back into their squad after missing the last few games through injury. Steve Naismith is available again after missing the CIS Cup win over Motherwell in midweek because he was cup-tied. Inverness are missing Markus Paatelainen, Rory McAllister and Steven Watt through injury for the trip to Ibrox.
Hibernian v Hearts
Hibernian are missing Dean Shiels for Sunday's derby at home to Hearts after his sending off against St Mirren last weekend. Steven Fletcher has handed Hibs boss John Collins a boost by shaking off an ankle injury to take his place in the squad and Guillaume Beuzelin is available again following knee surgery. Filipe Morais has served his suspension and is available for selection. Andrius Velicka is pushing for a place in the starting XI after his goalscoring heroics in midweek against Celtic. Anthony Basso is set to continue in goal as Steve Banks is still struggling with a wrist injury. Midfield duo Laryea Kingston and Bruno Aguiar are still missing through injury.
