Jill Scott has withdrawn from the England Women's squad ahead of their friendly with Australia at Craven Cottage on Tuesday.
The FA say the Manchester City midfielder has discomfort in her ankle and will return to her club for further assessment.
Scott played no part in England's 1-0 win over Brazil on Saturday as a precautionary measure.
The 31-year-old has 130 caps for England, and has scored 20 times for her country.
She also represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics when the Home Nations entered a joint football team, where she scored once in five matches.
