Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks has acknowledged interest from Birmingham City co-owner David Sullivan.

Chairman comments after David Sullivan reveals interest in Town

Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks has spoken of reports that David Sullivan is keen to buy the club. The club are currently in discussions with English businessman Marcus Evans who is looking to invest further, taking his share in the club up to 87.5 per cent. Sullivan, co-owner of Birmingham City, is set to sell the Midlands club to Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung before the end of the year. Sheepshanks has acknowledged Sullivan's approach to the club but will honour existing shareholder Evans. "I am aware that David Sullivan had an interest in the Club which has been speculated in the media for some time," he told the club's official website. "He has subsequently been informed that we are in a period of exclusive negotiations with Marcus Evans, which are in an advanced state and expected to come to a satisfactory conclusion. "Mr. Sullivan both understands and accepts that."
