Bayern full-back Marcell Jansen will not play again in 2007 after suffering an ankle injury.
Full-back out until 2008 with ankle injury
Bayern Munich full-back Marcell Jansen will not play again in 2007 after suffering an ankle injury in training.
Jansen tore ligaments in his ankle after blocking a shot during a training session while with the Germany squad.
He has returned to his club for treatment, with the Bundesliga leaders confirming Jansen will be in plaster for three weeks.
The defender will then require a three-week treatment programme, meaning he will not play for Bayern again until the Bundesliga resumes at the start of February following the winter break.
The injury also ensures that Jansen is unavailable for Germany's final two Euro 2008 qualifiers against Cyprus and Wales.
Breno interest
Meanwhile, reports in Germany claim Bayern are trying to pip Real Madrid and Fiorentina to the signing of Brazilian defender Breno.
The teenager currently plays for Sao Paulo and admits his target is to secure a move to European football.
Breno told Bild: "It is too early to talk about such things, but it is my dream to play in Europe."
