Warren Feeney has been sacked as manager of Newport County, the Sky Bet League Two club have confirmed.
The former Northern Ireland international joined the Exiles as assistant manager to John Sheridan in October 2015, before taking over in January this year and preserved the club's status in the division.
However, Newport are bottom of the league with just one win from their nine games this season and first-team coaches Sean McCarthy and James Bittner will take over caretaker duties with Feeney and assistant Andy Todd both leaving the club.
"The club can today confirm that manager Warren Feeney has been relieved of his duties as first-team manager," a Newport statement said. "Following a mixed start to the season the board of directors feel a change is necessary.
"We would like to thank Warren for his service since joining the club back in October 2015 and wish him all the best for his future career. In addition, assistant manager, Andy Todd, has also left the club with immediate effect.
"First-team coaches Sean McCarthy and James Bittner will remain at the club in their respective positions and assume caretaker responsibilities.
"The club is intending to make an appointment as soon as possible and will make an announcement in due course."
