Lyon had too much going forward for
Strasbourg as they sauntered to a 5-0 win.
Swedish schemer Kim Kallstrom opened the scoring in the 12th minute before six minutes later the Brazilian Juninho doubled their lead.
The was no respite in the second half for Strasbourg as Karim Benzema added a third, leaving Francois Clerc and Kallstrom, from the penalty spot, to complete the rout.
Bordeaux delighted the home crowd as they cruised into a three-goal lead before half-time as a brace from Wendel and a solitary strike from Alou Diarra put them into what looked to be an unassailable lead.
However, in the second period,
Toulouse striker Johan Elmander was a man possessed as his quick-fire hat-trick (63pen, 72 & 76) drew his side level.
It was, though, not to be for Toulouse as Nicolas Dieuze saw red on 83 minutes, before Pierre Ducasse made numerical advantage count with a late Bordeaux winner.
Valenciennes were too strong for Rennes as they won 3-0 on home soil thanks to goals from Steve Savidan (12) and Gregory Pujol (65 & 74).
Rennes' attempt to claw back Savidan's opener were not helped by John Mensah's red card in the 58th minute.
