Radeljic joins Cottbus

Energie Cottbus have signed Bosnia international Ivan Radeljic and handed a trial to Branko Jelic.

One in, one on trial for Cottbus

Bundesliga strugglers Energie Cottbus have signed Bosnia international defender Ivan Radeljic. The 26-year-old, who is tied to Croatian outfit Slaven Belupo, will join the Eastern German outfit in January after agreeing a deal until 2011. "I have been watching Ivan Radeljic's career for some time and I know him well," manager Bojan Prasikar told the club's official website. "We have been looking for a big defender who is good in the air and now we have found him." Radeljic, who made his international debut for Bosnia earlier this year, will now be handed the task of stabilising a defence that has conceded 26 goals this season as Cottbus struggle against Bundesliga relegation.

Trial

Meanwhile, the bottom of the table outfit have handed Serbian striker Branko Jelic a three-day trial. Energie boss Bojan Prasnikar hopes that the 30-year-old, who is under contract at Chinese club Xiamen Lanshi, could be the man to help shoot Cottbus away from the Bundesliga drop-zone. The former Crevena Zvezda player was voted China's Player of the Year in 2005 after topping the country's goalscoring charts with 21 goals.
