Hibernian completed the Cup double over Glasgow City as they landed the Scottish Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out at Hamilton's Superseal stadium.
The match had finished 1-1 after extra-time in front of a healthy crowd of 857 and it was Samantha Kerr who was to earn the unwanted headlines as she blazed the decisive kick over the bar to give Hibs a decisive 6-5 advantage and spark wild celebrations among Chris Roberts' squad.
Hayley Lauder had also seen her penalty saved by Jenna Fife while Lisa Roberston's miss in the first kick had given Glasgow the early advantage.
Hibs had won the League Cup against the same opponents in June with a last-minute goal and there was plenty of excitement on this occasion with Robertson's (23) strong header from a deep cross giving Hibs the lead.
When the ball broke to Lauder (67) she curled in the equaliser beyond Fife who, at full stretch, could only help the ball into the back of the net.
Michelle Docherty cleared the ball off the line in the third minute of added time while Glasgow substitute Sarah Crilly went close for the League champions after an assist from the excellent Clare Shine.
That cleared the stage for the penalty shoot-out and it was the Hibs Ladies who were to hold their nerve and secure their second piece of silverware in six months.
