Full-back could leave Easter Road in January

Skysports.com understands Hibernian defender David Murphy is a target for a host of clubs in the January transfer window. Murphy is believed to be looking for a move away from Easter Road as he seeks a new challenge. Hibs boss John Collins recently admitted the full-back could move on as he would like to return to England at some point. Birmingham and Wigan are both believed to be monitoring Murphy as they look to bring in a new left-back. Latics boss Steve Bruce has made a new left-back one of his top priorities as they have been forced to play Kevin Kilbane in that position since the departure of Leighton Baines. Murphy's agent, Willie McKay, has confirmed a number of clubs are chasing the former Middlesbrough youngster and that the player is interested in a move away from Hibs.

Interest

"There are lot of clubs interested in David and I have spoken to a few about him," McKay told skysports.com "David has been considering his future at Hibs for a while and he even asked to leave the club last summer. "He is still looking to leave and he would be interested in a move back to England. "There is no doubt he can play in the Premier League as he made his debut for Middlesbrough at the age of 17 and he has proved his quality up at Hibs."
