Cardiff chairman won't succumb to pressure
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has pledged his support for under-fire Bluebirds boss Dave Jones.
Things are far from rosy for Cardiff at the moment, with investors Langston demanding debt totaling a reported £24million back from the club.
And their on-pitch performances to date this season have left much to be desired, putting increasing pressure on Ridsdale to make changes.
But Ridsdale insists he has every faith in Jones, and believes the club can bounce back from their disappointing start to the season.
He told
The Independent: "We have sold £14million worth of talent over the past two years, I can't think of any other manager who would have done that without wincing.
"Dave hasn't winced, he has just got on with it."
Money problems
Ridsdale is no stranger to troubling debts. Toward the end of his time at Leeds United he came under immense pressure as the club's money problems spiraled out of control.
In his recently published book "United We Fall" Ridsdale speaks of his time at Leeds United and the problems he was faced with in the build up to his exit from the club.
And the Bluebirds chairman was keen to add that all royalties from the book go directly to St Gemma's Hospice.
"I am very keen that nobody thinks I am lining my pockets," said Ridsdale. "The only benefit I wanted was an opportunity to tell the truth."
Ridsdale was the target of angry fans after the downfall of Leeds and says he has experienced similar outbursts from some Cardiff supporters.
"Even at the FA Cup final this year I got terrible abuse," he said.
"It's interesting. In America, they say you can never succeed unless you've failed. They see it as part of the learning curve.
"Here we have a culture where the minute you show signs of weakness they want to grind you into the dust.
"The desire to humiliate is quite eerie."
