Fernando Belluschi has signed for Olympiakos

Olympiakos have sealed the signing of Argentine ace Fernando Belluschi. The 24-year-old has agreed a four-and-half-year deal with the Greek giants. Olympiakos have paid River Plate £5.5million for 50 per cent of the player, with his agent Pini Zahavi controlling the remainder. "I am very happy. I was really anxious for the negotiations to be completed," Belluschi said. "Now I just want to get involved in training as soon as possible.

Dream

"It is a dream for every Argentine footballer to play in Europe. "I feel lucky and happy to be here and hope that I can reproduce the form I had in Argentina." Belluschi is unlikely to be the last big-name capture of the transfer window for the Greeks. They are in talks with Juventus and they hope to sign both Sergio Almiron and Jean-Alain Boumsong - who has also been linked with a switch to Fulham. A loan deal for Almiron could be completed soon. "Olympiakos want him at any cost," his agent Claudio Vagheggi told a Roman radio station. "They are building a really important side to go forward in the Champions League. There are possibilities, but Almiron must consider this with his family. "He would go on loan for six months, then he will come back in summer."
