Derby have signed Hossam Ghaly on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season.
Paul Jewell has been looking to tie up a move for the Egyptian for some time and he has now been granted international clearance.
Ghaly has not featured for Spurs this season after coming close to a switch to Birmingham in the summer.
He was allowed to train with Egyptian club Al Ahly in November to keep up his fitness ahead of the African Cup of Nations.
However, he pulled out of his country's squad last week to complete a move to Pride Park.
Ghaly could now make his Derby debut against Wigan on Saturday.
Jewell has been busy strengthening his squad since the start of January and has also swooped for Robbie Savage, Danny Mills and Argentine strker Emmanuel Villa.
A deal has also been agreed for former Newcastle midfielder Laurent Robert.
