Winger commits to club

Ricardo Quaresma has agreed to a contract extension with Porto that will see him stay at the club until 2011. After weeks of negotiations the Portuguese international finally agreed to the deal that will see him be the best paid player in the team. Quaresma told the club's website: "I am delighted by the renewal. It is a sign that there is affection on both sides and also of the love that I have for the club and the people who work here. "The renewal came as the president and all the people who are in this club felt that I should extend my contract and I was pleased when we talked about it.

Spirit

"I have the spirit to help the club and to help the team win games and titles. Everybody knows that Porto have taught me a lot and made me grow. "I am pleased to be here at a crucial time for the club, that is what made me renew until 2011." During the last few months, Quaresma was rumoured to be a target of several big Premier League clubs, with his transfer value now estimated to be around €30million.
