Hornets have purchase option on striker

Watford have signed Fulham striker Collins John on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old, who recently completed a three-month loan deal at Leicester City, will be at Vicarage Road for the remainder of the campaign and the Hornets will then have the option to purchase the player. John joined Fulham from Dutch side FC Twente as an 18-year-old in 2004 and made his debut off the bench against Chelsea. The forward scored six goals during his first full season in the top flight before netting 13 in the 2005/06 campaign. He has been capped twice for Holland.

Opportunity

The 22-year-old Dutchman was due to join the Hornets last January but turned the move down. "It's been a year since I almost joined Watford and a lot has happened since then," he told the club's official website. "I know I have to win the fans over, I'm just thankful I've been given the opportunity to come here again and that everyone still wanted me. "I'm looking forward to doing what I do, scoring goals. "That's what I want personally, but of course for the team automatic promotion is vital. Then when we go up, it's all about staying up this time."
