Boss commits to team

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Doll has signed a two-year contract extension with the club. The former Germany international striker put pen-to-paper on the new deal on Friday, which will keep him at the Signal Iduna Park until 2010.

Happy

"I'm very happy about the extension as I have great enthusiasm for my job here at Borussia Dortmund," Doll told the club's website. "We still want to achieve a lot here. That's what this club and its fantastic fans deserve."
Future
BVB chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke also expressed his delight at the new contract saying: "We have held intensive talks with coach Thomas Doll and sport director Michael Zorc and together we have developed a workable concept for the future." Doll took over the reins at the 1997 European Champions in March 2007 and led the club away from relegation trouble. This season sees Dortmund in 10th place during the winter break.
