Zarabi becomes Paatelainen's second signing
Hibernian have agreed a deal to sign Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish immediately.
Nish signed a pre-contract with Hibernian on Wednesday and was set to join in the summer on a free transfer.
However the clubs have now agreed on a fee to allow Nish to leave Rugby Park without having to serve the remaining months of his Killie deal.
Nish, 26, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Easter Road.
Talented
Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen told the club's official website: "We're very pleased to have secured Colin's services at this time.
"He is a very talented player who has proven that he can score goals in the SPL so we are delighted to welcome him to the club."
Paatelainen made his second signing of the day as Algerian Abderaouf Zarabi agreed to move to Edinburgh.
Zarabi, 28, is a central defender and Hibernian have obtained a work permit for the full international, who has 26 caps for Algeria behind him.
He will join once international clearance is secured and he receives a visa.
