Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has downplayed Sir Alex Ferguson's role in Manchester United's revival since his appointment as caretaker boss.
Solskjaer has led United to seven wins in his first seven games after replacing the sacked Jose Mourinho last month, closing the gap on the top four from 11 to three points.

The Norwegian said upon his arrival he would seek out "mentor" Ferguson for advice on his new role and has since invited his former manager to the training ground.
However, Solskjaer has rejected suggestions Ferguson has been pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
"We don't speak weekly," said Solskjaer. "I haven't spoken to him many times. He has been in to visit us just once - he has been to see [former player, Giuseppe] Rossi once.
"The influence is more my 15 years under him. He is 77, it is not fair to him either is it?"
United face a tough test to ensure they qualify for the Champions League next season, with Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and themselves all vying for two spots.
"Part of the history of the club is that you get setbacks," Solskjaer added. "It was not just glory days with Sir Alex either.
"That is just the way we are, that we bounce back and hopefully we move up the table. That is key to us now.
"The past three managers have passed on so much knowledge that the players know they will have it in the locker because every day is an experience."
