Can the Latics pick off the Cherries?
Oldham continue to frustrate in their bid for a play-off place, while Bournemouth are beginning to get cast adrift.
The Latics are handily placed just four points adrift of the play-off places but have failed to pick up consecutive victories since before Christmas.
Bournemouth have won just one of their last five League One matches and currently find themselves marooned in the bottom four, 11 points from safety.
Fitness race
Oldham striker Lewis Alessandra is set to undergo a late fitness test before the game.
Alessandra, who scored his first goal for the club in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Tranmere at Boundary Park, suffered a foot injury in the build up to the Latics' first-half penalty and is now rated doubtful for the visit of the Cherries.
The Oldham physio staff are optimistic the 19-year-old did not aggravate the injury too much by playing on until the 90th minute while fellow frontman Craig Davies (hamstring) is hopeful of making a place on the Latics bench.
On loan Preston midfielder Jason Jarrett (ankle) is doubtful again after he took a knock in training but midfielder JP Kalala (ankle and knee) and defender John Thompson (knee) are likely to feature after being unused substitutes at the weekend.
However, striker Lee Hughes (groin) and on loan Hull midfielder David Livermore (hip) are certain to miss out.
Testing times
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond will also hand late fitness tests to two of his players ahead of Tuesday's trip to Boundary Park.
Lee Bradbury missed Saturday's defeat to Leeds at Elland Road with a migraine but will be given every chance to face the Latics.
Jo Tessem has been suffering with a niggling back problem which ruled him out against United and remains doubtful.
Warren Cummings should continue after playing the full 90 minutes against Gary McAllister's side after being doubtful with an infection picked up from the stitches in his shin injury.
On loan goalkeeper David Forde is likely to continue in goal despite his mistake on Saturday, with youngster Ryan Pryce on the bench.
Russ Perrett remains short of fitness and Neil Moss (wrist), Ryan Garry (shin), Darren Anderton (hamstring), Gareth Stewart (broken leg) and Steve Foley (back) are all still sidelined.
