Relief for striker regarding hamstring injury
Shefki Kuqi admits he was concerned he had suffered a serious injury during his first appearance back at Ipswich Town.
The Finnish striker returned to Portman Road on loan from Crystal Palace last week on a deal until the end of the season.
He came on as a substitute in the second half of Saturday's 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic, but was stretchered off with a hamstring injury 10 minutes later.
Kuqi feared he would be sidelined for several weeks, but he may only miss this weekend's Championship game with Scunthorpe United.
Improving
"I knew where Tommy (Miller) was going to pass the ball and felt I was through on goal," Kuqi told the club's
official website.
"Then I felt this sudden pain in the back of my leg. I've not had anything like it before and just went down on the ground. I tried to get up and walk on it, but it was no good.
"I'd warmed up fine. I always do a lot of running and stretching, so I suppose it was just one of those things, but I did think the worst when I was being carried off and in the dressing room after the game.
"I've hardly ever had a hamstring injury and it was still painful the next day, but I did some deep water running on Monday and today and it's improving all the time."
