David Bentley is confident Fabio Capello's strict disciplinary regime will help to unite the England squad.
During the build-up to his first game as England coach against Switzerland last month, Capello introduced a strict set of rules for the players.
Bentley, who started the 2-1 win over the Euro 2008 co-hosts, has no problem with the Italian's decision to implement a code of conduct.
And the Blackburn Rovers winger feels modern-day, multi-millionaire footballers need the England coach to take a hard line to ensure the national team is successful.
"If a manager says you can do what you want, you will do," Bentley told

"If I'm given an inch, I will take a mile. I know what I'm like and, to a certain extent, it's human nature. All players are like that.
"Young, rich footballers need reining in and have to be controlled. Deep down, we all know it.
"We are not on our holidays when we meet up with England. It's a job which has to be done properly. Everybody should be moving in the same direction to achieve what we all want - success for the country.
"I enjoyed the whole England set-up under Mr Capello and I had no problem with the rules he imposed. There's nothing wrong with a bit of discipline.
"If the boss tells you you have to do this and do that, eat together at certain times and there's a discipline, I will follow it. I like it. I think it's good. It will make us more of a group together."
