Defender delighted to be back after long-term injury
Mikael Silvestre is ready to push for a place in Manchester United's starting XI after he made his comeback on Wednesday.
Silvestre returned against Roma after almost seven months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.
The French defender lasted the 90 minutes as United claimed a 1-0 success to cement their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
And Silvestre has voiced his delight at making his return, insisting that he feels in prime condition ahead of The Red Devils' run-in.
"It was my first match for a very long time," he told
L'Equipe. "I had strange feelings, but I found my feet quite quickly.
Reward
"It was a reward for all the hard work I did because coming back from such an injury is not easy.
"I had previously played in two reserve matches, and here I could see that I could match the pace.
"It will be very interesting to see what happens between now and the end of the season; the coach now has an additional problem now that I am available."
