Aldershot Town sealed promotion back to the Football League, 16 years after they last played league football. The Shots claimed the Conference Premier title on Tuesday evening after they gained the point they needed at Exeter City. The champagne was placed on ice for a moment as Adam Stansfield's goal threatened to postpone the promotion party, but Scott Donnelly struck to make sure Gary Waddock's men were promoted. Torquay United, relegated from League Two last season, have all-but sealed their place in the play-offs but the remaining three spots could go to any one of four teams with only a point between Burton, Cambridge, Stevenage and Exeter. As yet no team has been relegated from League Two, although Wrexham looked doomed as they are nine points adrift.
