Ex-Trotters in cocaine admission
Former Brazil international and Bolton Wanderers striker Mario Jardel has admitted taking class-A drug cocaine.
Jardel, now 34, played for Bolton in the 2003/04 campaign, although he failed to net a Premier League goal.
The former Porto and Sporting ace turned to drugs following the breakdown of his marriage, but the striker does not believe he is an isolated case in football.
"It all started with bad relationships," conceded Jardel. "Then came my divorce, depression and drugs.
"I only consumed one drug, cocaine, but not while I was playing. I only took it during vacations.
"This happens a lot in football, but I can't talk about it. I haven't taken it for two months."
