Saddlers make major changes as they look to progress

Walsall have released nine players as they look to progress next season. The Saddlers finished 12th in League One this season, 12 points off the play-offs, and have decided to make sweeping changes, with long-serving duo Darren Wrack and Ian Roper the highest profile causalities. Tommy Mooney will join Carl Cort at Spanish Segunda Division side UD Marbella, while Bertrand Bossu, Michael Dobson, David McDermott, Stefan Moore, Alassane N'Dour and Edrissa Sonko have also been told they can find new clubs. "We would like to thank each and every player for their hard work and effort," said chief executive Roy Whalley. "We would especially like to thank Darren Wrack and Ian Roper for their service to the football club. "Some difficult decisions have been made as we look to develop a squad capable of making further progress at this level and build on the foundations that have already been laid."
