Forest Green Rovers are set to sign Scunthorpe defender Scott Laird, according to Sky sources.
Sky Sports News HQ understands Laird has agreed a two-year contract with the newly-promoted Sky Bet League Two club.
The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Walsall and made 31 appearances, scoring on four occasions.
Laird started his career at Plymouth and has since enjoyed spells at Torquay, Stevenage and Preston.
Forest Green are preparing for their first season in the Football League after securing promotion via the National League play-offs in May.
Manager Mark Cooper has already bolstered his squad with the signings of Reece Brown, Charlie Cooper, Lee Collins and Callum Evans.
