Norwich skipper agrees one-year contract extension
Norwich captain Mark Fotheringham has set his sights on securing promotion to the Premier League after agreeing a new contract at Carrow Road.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who was believed to be a target of Charlton, has signed a fresh one-year deal as manager Glenn Roeder looks to maintain the core of his Canaries squad.
And after joining Robert Eagle in putting pen-to-paper for next season, Fotheringham is eager to improve on Norwich's 17th-placed Championship finish.
"I would like to thank the fans for their support last year after a disappointing season," Fotheringham told Norwich's
official website.
Delight
"I am delighted to have signed for another season.
"There is only one thing on my mind coming back from pre-season, to push as hard as humanly possible to reach the Premier League."
Fotheringham joined Norwich in 2007 as a free agent following spells with Celtic and Dundee.
Since joining Norwich, Fotheringham has made 38 appearances and has scored three goals in that time.
