Midfield star not offered new deal

Jay-Jay Okocha has left Hull City after not winning a new deal at the Premier League new boys. The 34-year-old, who joined Hull in September, has been informed he will not be offered a new contract when his current deal expires later this month. The former Bolton star is now thought to be considering retirement after an illustrious career. Despite making only 11 starts during his time at the KC Stadium Tigers boss Phil Brown believes the Nigerian has left a lasting legacy at the club. "What Jay-Jay Okocha brought to the club is a sense of belief and ability. That undoubtedly raised the belief of the other players and the profile of the club," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

Success

"The legacy that Jay-Jay Okocha will leave at Hull City is one of success. He will be remembered for his smile, his pure ability as a footballer and for raising a club's aspirations." The Tigers have also confirmed David Livermore will leave along with youngsters Brewster Frizzell and Frank Belt.
