Forest midfielder signs on
Hartlepool have made Nottingham Forest midfielder Alan Power their first signing of the summer.
The 20-year-old Dubliner spent three years at the City Ground and impressed for the reserves after progressing through their Academy.
But Power has now been released and has been quick to agree a deal with Hartelpool.
Power impressed in a second-string match against Pools last month and also enjoyed a successful month-long loan spell at Blue Square Premier League side Grays at the turn of the year in which he scored twice in five appearances.
"He is a young player and we have to remember that - he has not had the experience of league football but we think we have a player with the potential to really push on," said manager Danny Wilson.
"We have had good reports from Nottingham Forest with regards to his temperament and character.
"Alan has been a bit unfortunate there is that they have a very good group of young players and they couldn't keep them all on - thankfully we managed to nip in there and sign him up early."
